Cantine Lunae
| Cantine Lunae wine firm is located in an extraordinary geographical and historical context, from which Paolo Bosoni, firm’s owner, takes inspiration for strenghtening his vineyards and for creating his wines. The land is extending from hills in front of Apuanian Alps to Ligurian Sea; this land is fertile, irrigated by Magra river, privileged by hot sun and by Mediterranean breeze which gives the wine extraordinary tastes and scents. The story of this land is documented from Roman Age: here Luni stands, prosperous roman port, whose ruins forms a wide archaeological zone very near to Cantine Lunae?s land. “Lunae” is the name given in regard to near colony called by Romans “of Luna”, because it was located in the mouth of Magra river, formerly known by Greeks as Selene port. The town, formerly an Etruscan colony, was known before roman colony?s settlement, in 177 a.C. From that moment Lunae became an important port from which left ”?wines in which Luna had the supremacy in Etruria?” (Pliny) and also “? cheese in great forms and marble?”(Martial). Cantine Lunae draws from this tradition and from this history, more than two thousand years old, which combined to technological innovation, used in subsequent phases of wine creation, grants an extraordinary quality.A commitment constantly repaid with several prizes and recognition obtained by Cantine Lunae?s products in the most important Italian and international exhibitions and competitions. |
